Custom Handlebar Order Form

This form is designed to help you communicate all the specifications for your custom Thick Handlebar. You can choose rise, width, sweep and more. Try to answer as much as you can to help me make the best bars for you. For the purposes of this form please write all linear measurements in inches and all angle measurements in degrees. Thanks.

Bar Style
Select your preferred style of construction:

Rebar refers to the re-enforcing gusset made from an extension of the crossbar material.
Wrap Style Bar refers to the wrap-around re-enforcing gusset similar to the way Profile cranks look.
Strip Style Bars are made similar in design to the old Standard Strip Bars or the Basic Whammy Bars with a 7/8" handle tube inserted into a 1" tube after the bend. Similar in appearance to a 4 piece look but beefier.


Bar Geometry

 The Bar Geometry Diagram illustrated using a simple 4-piece bar may help.
Overall width: inches

Measure from end to end. Dimension "A" in the diagram.
Minimum amount of room needed for grips, levers, etc: inches

Most need at least 7 inches of grip and lever room on each side of their bars. Dimension "B" in the diagram.
Bar height (rise): inches

Measure from the center of the clamp tube to the center of the handle tubes. Dimension "C" in the diagram.
The stem's clamping width: inches

Measure the width of your stem so the clamp bar can be made to fit. Most stems are around two inches wide.
Dimension "D" in the diagram.
Rearward sweep: degrees

Measure how many degrees back from straight you want the sweep.
Most people are comfortable somewhere between 3 and 10 degrees of rearward sweep.
Upward sweep: degrees

Measure how many degrees up from level you want the sweep.
Most people are comfortable somewhere between 0 and 5 degrees of upwards sweep.

Bar Tube Specifics

Select the 4130 seamless chrome-moly tubes that you want for your bars.
Select a handle tube OD (Outside Diameter):

(7/8 inch is most common handle tube size.)

Select a handle tube wall thickness:

The "handle tube" is the one that your grip goes on.
Select a clamp tube OD:

7/8" OD is BMX size. 1" OD is normal MTB size. 1 1/8" and 1 1/4" are MTB/DH oversizes.

Select a clamp tube wall thickness:

The "clamp tube" is the one that your stem clamps onto.

Other Misc. Information
Powdercoat Finishing
Bars come Raw for free. A powdercoat color (except for Gloss Black) cost $50 extra. Gloss Black costs $40 extra. The Process involves sandblasting, powdercoating and baking to give you a very attractive and durable finish. Much better than plain old paint. Samples of Powder Colors for your custom bars

Basic Custom Bars cost at least $160. If delivery is required add $15 for handling and UPS Shipping. Add costs for powdercoating if you want that option. No custom bars will be fabricated without prior payment.
