If you have a TMX or bike with a similar seat angle then you may already know how important it is to have a strong seat post. The extremely laid back seat tube angle puts even more bending stress on the post because its cantilevered nature. With a Thick Gutless post you can choose the wall thickness of your tubing based on your weight and aggressiveness. The TMX fits a 1 1/8" (28.6mm) post which in this case we chose .065" walled seamless aircraft chrome-moly.

The tube that comprises the "rail" is a curved piece of 7/8" x .083" wall. Unless the bike is upside down you would never notice the Gutless Post. It just quietly does its job out of sight and out of mind. One less thing to worry about. 3/8" bolts thread into the seat through 3/8" thick 4130 plate. The seat is easily replaced and in the unlikely event that a bolt bends or breaks that too can be replaced at your local hardware store.

A tab made from 4130 plate is welded to the "rail" and fits into the front of the seat where the normal rails would usually go. Notice also how the "rail" tube is seamlessly capped at an angle.
