The above seat is nearly destroyed. There is little leather cover left and the corners are all bare plastic. Notice that the shape and position of the seat are correct even still. If this seat was not mounted to a Gutless Post but instead was mounted with the traditional rails and gutz, then this seat would have been declared dead years ago. It probably would have died of a severely bent rail, like all my other seats. This post is several years old and going strong.Everyone I know trashes seat rails and seat guts. Rails get bent, pop out and poke into legs. Seat guts come loose, slip and eventually refuse to tighten. Thick takes all this garbage out and replaces it with 4130 chrome-moly tubing and plate. The fore/aft position and angle of tilt are forever fixed so this product is strictly custom. Should the seat become worn and need changing, it can be easily removed and replaced with the same or a similar seat by just undoing two bolts. |
