Art on the Walls

The new Thick shop was actually pretty old and dingy looking when I moved in. About five years ago, the previous occupants did auto body repair which apparently involves spraying thousands of layers of yellowish brown goop on the wall. Anyway it wasn't pretty and needed to be covered up. (Photo of early shop showing partially painted over goop and new fire wall) I talked to a few of the local grafitti artsts and tried to get them to work with me on some ideas for the walls. Nobody seemed interested so I started doing it myself. I spray painted some logos and other crap on the worst brown stuff and on the brand new sheetrock "fire" wall. I encouraged some artistically inclined friends to paint some stuff also. When we had almost completely covered both walls the guy from Atomik Arts walks up and introduces himself. After looking through an impressive portfolio I decided to have him redo everything. Four long respirator days later and these are the results.
The whole wall
This is the "fire" wall, the largest single surface I had painted. Originally this was the only wall that was going to be painted but I guess I got carried away.

The Shop Guardian
The first character and probably the overall masterpiece is the guardian of the shop.
We haven't named him yet.

Looks like Richie
The second Atomik character. It has an eerie resemblance to a local homie.
Any resemblance to persons real or fictitious is purely coincidental.

Fire
These flames inspired me to have flames on the van also.
Even though flames are common they look cool when they are done well.
